Surprise!

A surprisingly balanced article on the Katrina disaster in the making in the NYTimes. It's such a disaser down there, I hadassumed no preliminary training for this disaster had taken place at all, but it turns out they had trained. The article also tells you what resources were in the state before the hurricane struck, number of the National Guard, etc.

After this, the state government and the feds better get up off their asses in California and start drilling for the post-earthquake disaster hard-core and with immense foresight as to all the complications that could go wrong. You just know the one we've avoided for years is now coming sometime soon.

Back to Predictable: Kos is already gloating in the expectation that Bush's numbers are going to become murky and sink, like the receding flood waters in NOLA.
